Died Saturday morning September 12, 2015. Judith was born February 15, 1945, in Ludington, Michigan a daughter of Edward and Reva (Sulak) Marks. She had been a Kalamazoo area resident for over 34 years. J
Judy graduated from MSU with Bachelor’s Degree in Home Economics and later got her Masters’s Degree in Family Ecology. She was employed with Michigan State University as County Cooperative Extension Service Home Economist for 26 years, before retiring. Judy started out working for Sanilac County for 4 years and then in Port Huron for 8 years for St. Clair County before moving to Kalamazoo where she worked for 14 yrs. She received national honors from the National Association of Home Economists for her work. Judy has been active in EGA (Embroiders Guild of America) especially her pet project of Angel Gowns for the Neo-Natal Unit at the hospital. She also made afghans for the Neo-Natal Unit and did a lot of volunteer work in the county including ushering at Miller Auditorium for many years
Judy was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by a sister, Margaret “Peggy” (Daniel) Van Aelst of Kalamazoo; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
