Judith L. Shadle Bean, age 72, of Findlay and a former Cardington resident, died Friday afternoon in the Blanchard Valley Hospital. She was born Aug.17, 1944 in Wilkinsburg, PA. to the late Homer and Kathleen (Lovett) Shadle. Judy attended high school in Darlington, PA and spent a year and a half in nurses training at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. Judy graduated with honors from Findlay College with a degree in education. She studied Spanish, English, Speech and Drama and taught 3 years at Ottawa Glandorf High School. On Feb. 4, 1972 in Arlington, Ohio, Judy married Frances L. “Jack” Bean and he preceded her in death on June 15, 2004. She and Jack, were active members of the Whetstone Wood Carvers. Together, they carved, painted, and sold Christmas ornaments, hand-carved Santas, and many other beautiful craft items. Judy attended the First Presbyterian Church in Mt. Gilead. Judy is survived by her sons: Andrew (Sunshine) Bean of Marion, Chris Bean of Albany, N.Y., and Scott Bean of Westerville; four grandchildren: Sarah-Faith Alexis Bean, Carson Bowling, Jessica Bean and Zachary England; and siblings: Jill (Dennis) Thacker of Forest, Jeff (Jane) Shadle of Findlay, and Jan (Tam) Shadle of Jenera. In addition to her parents and husband, Judy was preceded in death by her brother Jay Shadle. The family would like to thank the staff and caregivers at Fox Run Manor, Blanchard Valley Dialysis Center, and Blanchard Valley Hospital for their compassion and excellent care.
