On January 4, 1944, Tom Watson Keith and Mary-Joe Echols Keith welcomed the birth of their daughter, Judith Ann in LaGrange, Georgia. Little did they realize at the time that this precious child would grow into a strong, vivacious woman with a steely determination to love and be loved in the name of the God she served for her whole life. Her earthly journey was completed on July 3, 2016, while in the gentle care of LaGrange Hospice.

Her early years were lived in Hogansville, GA and she graduated from Greenville High School in 1962. While in high school, she was a somewhat reluctant date for a young Frank Powers, but as time passed, it became apparent to both of them that they belonged together. She would later serve alongside her beloved husband in the ministry for 53 years and epitomized a loving, caring, and committed partner and wife. Wherever Frank’s pastorates were, she was a leader by example for the church’s music programs, worship teams, or teaching Sunday School. She was a natural for leading women’s Bible studies and missionary groups. Judy was a mentor to countless numbers of women and young people in their walk with God. She logged many miles on mission projects for East Newnan Baptist Church. She was involved in Upward Soccer at her church and took the church outside its walls as she was involved with young children at Moreland Elementary through The Good News Club. Her most recent passion involved genealogy. During this busy church life, she also worked for The McJunkin Corporation for 30 years, first as an administrative assistant and later as a sales representative. She retired in 2000. Both of her parents predeceased her. She was a faithful servant of the Lord alongside her husband Frank Powers. She gave willingly her time and energy to her children Tondra Marie Powers Ivey and her husband Mike; Jeffery Lee Powers and his wife Sandy Umphrey Powers. No one could ask for a more dedicated grandmother than Adam Michael Ivey and his wife Laura Bryan Ivey, Ansley Marie Ivey, Emily Brooke Powers, Kaleigh Ann Ivey, and Kendall Leigh Powers. She adored her only great-grandchild Abigail Marie Ivey. She cherished her sister Bonnie Keith Stone and her husband Johnny, Becky Keith Ladd and her husband David, Tammie Keith Wilkinson, and her husband Neal. There is a large extended family of nieces and nephews.
