Judith A. Sobocinski, 81, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on November 9, 2022. Judy and her husband, Dr. Lawrence J. Sobocinski, lived in Harbor Ridge, FL. for the past 6 years, after moving from Larchmont, NY, where they resided for 45 years. Judy was a loving wife and best friend to Larry for 57 years.
Born on January 16, 1941, in the Bronx, NY, Judy was the youngest of three girls to the late Frederick and Florence (Walsh) Miller and is survived by her sisters Roberta Gilhuly and Nancy Dolan of Fairfield, CT. Judy was the loving mother to Susan Puchert (Kevin) of Westport, CT, Krisha Mahoney (Steve) of Sherborn, MA, John Sobocinski (Monika) of Ridgefield, CT, and Katie Oxman (Lee) of Greenwich, CT, proud “Gammy” to her 8 grandchildren, Grace, Isabel, Courtney, Kathryn, Caroline, Marek, Siri and Jane, whom she deeply adored, and “Aunt Judy” to 20 nieces and nephews.
Judy grew up in Pelham, NY, where she attended Pelham High School and later graduated from Marymount College with a Bachelors Degree in Education in 1960. After having taught first grade at Alice E. Grady Elementary School in Elmsford, NY, Judy embarked on what she considered her most rewarding and proudest achievement; raising her family. Judy and Larry planted roots in Larchmont, NY, where they, along with their children, made lifelong friends and countless memories throughout the community.
