Judith (Judy) Anne Sessions Whaley, 75, of Huntsville, AL, passed away on January 14, 2018.

Judy was born in Birmingham, AL on July 19, 1942. She graduated from Ensley High School in 1960 and from Troy State University in 1966, with a degree in Elementary Education. She married her college sweetheart, David, in 1962 in Troy, AL. Judy taught school in Alabama and Florida before settling in Huntsville in 1985. She worked with Huntsville City Schools for many years as a lead teacher in the after school and summer programs. Judy loved working with children, reading, and playing piano. She was a cat lover all her life and loved her two Siamese cats. She was a woman of faith, growing up in the Presbyterian church. Judy was a mother of four, and a loving grandmother to her only grandchild.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Edith Jeffcoat Sessions. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, David Whaley, Jr., children, Ellen Mullins of Decatur, David Whaley III of Huntsville, Jennifer (Chuck) McNeese of Decatur, and Valerie Whaley of Huntsville, and one grandchild, Eden McNeese of Decatur.
