Judith Gayle Johnston Halstead, 73, of St. Petersburg, FL and Hanover, MD passed away on Sunday, March 9, 2014 at Morton Plant Meese Hospital of Clearwater, FL.

Born September 13, 1940 to the late Robert and Mae Elizabeth Johnston. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, William Halstead; daughter, Cheryl Norris and her husband Jeffery of Pasadena, MD; two grandchildren, Joseph Twomey of Yuma, AZ and Heather Barnes of Waldorf, MD; two great-grandchildren, Hanna Twomey and Liam Barnes; three sisters, Sandra Thomas of St. Petersburg, FL, Kathryn Jones of Moundsville, WV, and Texie Doolittle of Newton, NC.

Judith graduated from Princeton High School, class of 1958, Princeton, WV. She worked for the AFL-CIO office, Princeton, WV and Bluefield Sanitarium as a Nurse, Bluefield, WV.

Over the years Judith lived in West Virginia, Texas, Georgia, New York, Nebraska, Hawaii, Germany, and Maryland. She was a dedicated military wife of the United States Air Force and Dept. of Defense/National Security Agency. Judith and William are dedicated members of the Historic Main Post Chapel, Fort Meade, MD and Grace Gospel Chapel, St. Petersburg, FL.

Judith was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star of Glen Burnie, MD, a member of Pinellas Park, FL Red Hats Society, and a member of the Pascal Senior Center of Glen Burnie, MD.
