Judith D. Thurman, 69, of Rising Sun (formally of Patriot), passed away at 5:45 PM, Friday, April 23rd, peacefully, at The Waters of Dillsboro. Judith was born in Wheeling, WV on December 18, 1940, a daughter of the late Thelma Eliza (Pastorius) and Cornelius Edward Freeland. On Nov. 23, 1978 at Nebraska City, NE she married Glenn Thurman, who died on Oct. 7, 2000. She worked as a Group Sales Representative at Grand Victoria Casino in Rising Sun, IN. She retired from Ohio Rod where she was Personnel Manager. Judith loved sewing, crafts and reading.

five daughters, Julie Mathias (Don), of Dillsboro, IN;
Kimberly Maloy (Daniel), of Rising Sun, IN;
Denise Thurman, of Houston, TX;
Sandy Caparale, of Duncunville, TX;
Cindy Boyd, of Muscatine, IA;
three sons Gregory Penvose (Linda), of Rising Sun, IN;
Richard Thurman, of Porlage, WI;
John Thurman, of New Bern, NC;
by 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild
Judith is also survived by
three sisters, Joyce Chalk, of Boynton Beach, FL;
Karen King, of Youngstown, OH;
Frances Smith, of McMechen, WV.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Glenn and granddaughter Ann Marie (Penvose) Smith.
