Mrs. Juanita Maddox Rutherford, age 94, of Hoover passed away on June 16, 2016. She was born in Fayette, Alabama on November 23, 1921. She was the oldest of James M. and Rhoday H. Maddox’s seven children. Juanita was preceded in death by her parents, her spouse Earl G. Rutherford, and four siblings. She is survived by her two sisters Frances M. Lemons of Birmingham and Joyce M. Shirley of Virginia Beach, VA, and several nieces and nephews. Juanita had a long career in retail, retiring as manager of the Pizitz Department Store Fur Department. She and Earl were ardent Alabama football fans and especially loved the away games. Juanita was a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church. Special thanks to Ona Hunt and her longtime friend and trusted advisor, Ginger Ferrell.
