Juanita E. Zong, 81, of Elkhart, died at 4 p.m. Monday (Oct. 5, 2009) in her home. She was born on Feb. 19, 1928, in Elkhart to James and Eva (Lytel) Baker. On March 21, 1948, she married Robert J. Zong in Elkhart. He died on May 23, 1978.
She is survived by one son, Walter “Jeep” Zong of Elkhart; three daughters, Gail Wilcox and Cindy Calahan, both of Elkhart, and Cheryl Stoner of Goshen; one sister, Marilyn (“O.J.”) Pippenger of Elkhart; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Ms. Zong worked as an assembler at CTS Corp. for many years and was a former operator for General Telephone Co. She enjoyed bingo and bird watching. She had attended Concord High School.
