Juanita B. Haslett Thomas age 92, of Centralia, passed away Saturday, January 13, 2018, at Fireside Nursing Home in Centralia. Juanita was born March 17, 1925, in Herrin, IL, the daughter of Sumner Crane and Marie (Taylor) Crane.

She married John Robert Haslett, Sr. in February 1950 and he preceded her in death in May 1999. She later married Harold Eugene Thomas and he preceded her in death in 2012.

Juanita is survived by one daughter: Judy Simmons and husband Al of Centralia; one son: John Roger Haslett and wife Jolene of Effingham; six grandchildren: John Robert Haslett III and wife Rebecca of North Carolina, Timothy Haslett and wife Karen of Florida, Craig Starr and wife Iris of Texas, Robert Jackson of Centralia, Lindsey Haslett of Mattoon, and John Paul Haslett of Mattoon, seven great-grandchildren, one brother: Wayne Crane of Texas and many nieces and nephews. Juanita is preceded in death by her parents, husbands, granddaughter: Toni J. Hall, stepson: John Robert Haslett, Jr., four sisters: Verda MaeFelts, Valiera Coffman, Dorothy Forsythe and Elaine Meador,one brother: Forest Crane, Juanita was the owner of Mom’s Place located in Centralia, IL. before retiring. She was a member of the Women of the Moose Chapter 223 in Centralia. She loved to cook, sew and had a love for animals. Juanita also loved spending time with her family and friends.
