Juan Fernando Lizarraga passed away on April 1, 2015 at the age of 94. He is preceded in death by his parents, Augusto and Marguerite “Mag” LaBarre Lizarraga. He is survived by his beloved wife Lydia Breaux Lizarraga, children Juan J. (Lynn) Lizarraga, August C. (Ellen) Lizarraga, and Michael T. (Dawn) Lizarraga, Grandchildren: Cherie (Tom) Gressaffa, John W. Lizarraga, Alainna (Wayne) Arena, August Jr. (Marcela) Lizarraga, Alexandra Lizarraga, Great grandchildren: Jane and Patrick Gressaffa, and Brynn and Brooks Arena.
Juan was a lifelong resident of New Orleans and the Slidell area, and worked as an estimator in the construction industry, in his later years he managed his family properties in Assumption Parish.
He proudly served in the U.S Marine Corp, during World War II, in the Pacific Theatre, and later served in the Korean Conflict.
Juan was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman, and enjoyed nothing more than being on the water.
