Juan De Dios Rugama, of Galesburg, died Friday, June 3, 2015 in OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.Juan was born March 8, 1952 in Mexico City, Mexico, the son of Manuel and Luz Rugama.
He married Rosa Rodriguez on May 18, 1974 in Las Vegas, NV; she survives of Galesburg. Juan is also survived by one son, John S. (Erica) Rugama of Des Moines, IA; one daughter, Angel Rugama of Galesburg; and 6 grandchildren, Briana, Anna, Nina, Brian Packingham, Jr., Sophie, and Evelyn. He is also survived by two brothers, Sergio (Madeline) Rugama of Arizona and Javier Rugama of Galesburg; and two sisters, Maria Oroepeza of Mexico and Victoria Lax of Massachusetts.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Francisco Rugama and one grandson, Jaymes Packingham. Juan worked many years in general labor and as a mechanic. He loved fishing, old coins, and antiques. He also loved to play canasta and will be remembered as a great story teller.
