Juan Balderas, 72, of Fort Lupton, CO, passed away on September 26, 2020 with his family by his side.
He was born in Crystal City, Texas on January 24, 1948, and was the son of the late Juan and Tomasa Balderas.
Juan grew up in Crystal City, Texas and relocated to Colorado when he met his wife. They married on September 28, 1966 and were just shy of celebrating their 54 year anniversary. Juan worked at King Soopers Produce Warehouse for 34 years. Juan loved camping, fishing and the outdoors. He also enjoyed gardening, yardwork, and his pets (Edna, Tigger and Patches). He enjoyed telling stories, taught the grandchildren how to swim in the backyard, and was a jokester. He enjoyed listening to all genres of music but his favorite was Mexican Music.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Cynthia Tijerina; and his siblings, Ricardito, Geronimo, Sandra, Mario and Ricardo. He is survived by his spouse, Sabas Balderas; son, Juan Balderas (Amanda); daughter, Debra Smith (Spencer); grandchildren, Christopher Tijerina (Krystal), Vincent (Johanna), Tanetta, Cruz, Tamisha, Jared Balderas, Gavin, Zoe, Noah, Lilah, Joseph Welch, Shauntelle and Raiden Smith; 11 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild. He is also survived by his sisters, Mariela Balderas, Norma Velasquez (Pedro), Martha Velasquez (Manny), Diana Barrera (Gilbert), Rosalinda Cantu (Ignacio); and his brother Carlos Balderas (Gloria).
