Juan Avila Recio Sr. better known as Johnny or Johnny Fast lived a full life full of love and great barbeque. Johnny was born and raised in Robstown, Texas on the Texas gulf coast by his parents Susana and Victor Recio. He and his brother Rubin loved the water and exploring the coast. Johnny found his love of baseball at a young age and played baseball in high school. Johnny would go on to marry the love of his life,Raquel Gamez and raised 4 children. Although the marriage ended, his love for her never did. Family meant everything to Johnny. Every time he talked to anyone in the family he would check on everyone else to make sure everyone was good. On all holidays and weekends, the family would gather for a barbeque and Johnny would grill wonderful meats and make sure everyone had a good time. Johnny liked games such as poker, dominos and uno. Rumor has it that he taught his poker skills to his grandson that some might consider cheating. He liked action movies and shows like CSI, Godfather and anything with Al Pacino. Johnny loved his cats, Selina and Samantha and his grand-dogs. He was always a Yankee fan and a Cowboy fan, especially during the Landry/Staubach years. Everyone knew Johnny was a ladies man. Women were just drawn to him. Maybe it was because he was such a sharp dresser, maybe because he was such a great dancer or maybe it was his smile?
Johnny passed peacefully on August 26, 2019 surronded by his family.
