Joyce Paula Zboril, 74, of Union Pier, Michigan died Sunday evening, June 5, 2005 at Lakeland Medical Center – St. Joseph, Michigan. Joyce was born February 21, 1931 in Lakeside, Michigan to Paul R. and Juanita (Reed) Covert. She was a high school graduate and on April 10, 1948 she married Leonard Zboril in Lakeside, Michigan.

Joyce was Township Clerk for New Buffalo Township for many years and was active in township politics for over thirty years. Joyce was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, #332, Niles; Friends of Berrien County Shriners; Charter Member of New Buffalo Service League; River Valley Garden Club and Moose Lodge #980; served on the New Buffalo Township Library Board and the New Buffalo Township Park Comittee and was a member of the River Valley Senior Center.

Survivors include her husband, Leonard of Union Pier; children, Nita (Jim) Murray of Three Oaks; Nancy (Robert) Gino of Evergreen Park, Illinois; Paula (Kenneth) Dudiak of Sawyer; Patty Zboril of Three Oaks and Leonard “Bob” (Jacqueline) Zboril of Three Oaks; grandchildren, Robert, Jr., Justin, Angela, Allison, Jacob, Amanda and Derek; great grandchildren James, Michelle, Kiersten, Samantha and Robert (Vinny); sisters, Barbara (Walter) Sokolowski of Livermore, CA and Roberta Sweet of Oregon and brothers, Edgar (Sandy) Covert of Marysville CA and Paul, II (Sarah) Covert of Torrance, Ca. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents and a granddaughter, Rhonda.
