Joyce (Cain) Taylor, 76, of Ottawa died on Monday, May 21, 2018, at OSF Medical Center in Peoria. Joyce was born on June 9, 1941, in Ottawa, to Jack and Hazel (Fry) Cain.
She was a graduate of the Serena High School class of 1959. Joyce married John Taylor at St. Patrick Church in Ottawa on June 27, 1964. She was an accountant at Horizon House for 20 years. After her retirement, she volunteered at A Servant’s Heart. She enjoyed knitting, reading, and traveling. She is survived by her husband, John, 3 daughters, Jeanette (John) Haerle, of Ottawa, Julie Taylor, of Crystal Lake, and Jana (Paul Rogalla) Taylor, of Ottawa, 8 grandchildren, Alyssa Russell, Brandon (Kaytlin Ungles) Haerle, Lauren Rogalla, Garett Besterfeldt, Kyle Haerle, Keifer Besterfeldt, Lucas Rogalla, and Matthew Haerle, a great-grandson, Ryken Haerle, 2 sisters Mary Emma (Jack) Altman, of Springfield and Betty (Bob) Cutler, of Ottawa, a brother-in-law Tom McCoy, and many nieces, nephew, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters Marjorie Cain and Bonnie McCoy, and 2 brothers, George and Billy Cain.
