Joyce Stephens Hosey passed gently from this life into the eternity of heaven on January 3, 2020 while in the care of Brightmoore Hospice. She was born November 20, 1942 in Newnan to the late Emit Claude and Ruby Christine Jackson Stephens. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband Cyril Edward Hosey, her sister, Linda Stephens Baxley and her nephew Steven Baxley. Like many of the young women in Newnan, she found an employment opportunity with International Playtex which had opened a plant in Newnan in the 1954. She was a dedicated employee there for 29 years. She enjoyed working in the cafeteria at Arbor Springs School following her retirement from Playtex. She was a member of Providence Baptist Church. Joyce is survived by her son Chris Hosey and his wife Powell Greer Hosey of Thomaston. She was a loving and attentive grandmother to Mary Beth Hosey Powers (and her husband Stephen) and Julianne Hosey. Joyce was a devoted sister to her brother, Alan Stephens of Newnan. Also surviving is her niece Kaye Baxley Lamb and her children Meredith, Leslie and Brian of Guyton, GA.
