Avy Joyce Roper, 80, of Viola, Arkansas, passed away, Friday, June 2, 2017 at Fulton County Hospital in Salem, Arkansas.
She was born in Mountain View, Arkansas on June 29, 1936, daughter of the late Bertha (Thomas) and Wilmer Virgil Meredith. Joyce spent her life as a loving daughter, mother, grandmother and friend. She was united in marriage to Kenneth E Roper on January 21, 1956 in Kansas City, Missouri. Joyce was a member of Viola Baptist Church in Viola, Arkansas. During her working years, she worked in the home as a homemaker.
Joyce is survived by her husband, Kenneth Roper of the home; daughters, Carol Mask and husband Karl of Viola, Arkansas and Janet Tune and husband Jackie of Manila, Arkansas; sons, Charles Roper of Viola, Arkansas and David Roper and wife Tammy of Glade Water, Texas; grandchildren, Miranda Griffin of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Jason Mask of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Chris Mask and wife Amelia of Viola, Arkansas, Jeremy Mask and wife LeAnn of Viola, Arkansas, Brittany Crabtree and husband Ron of Peel, Arkansas and Ava Nichols and husband Chase of Lake City, Arkansas and 14 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilmer and Bertha Meredith and grandson, Timothy Mask.
