On Saturday, February 1, 2020, Joyce transitioned to be with the Lord. She is the beloved Mother of Davin Hampton-Son and Kiara Hampton-Daughter and grandmother of Jayla & Chloe Hampton.
Joyce is the daughter of the late Vivian and Ernest Young and the youngest of 10 children. She was preceded in death by Alfred Young, Ernest Young, Jr., Clora Edna Bell, Doris Tyson, Melvin Cobb, Catherine Townsend and Judith Walker. Joyce is survived by her sisters; Sara “Frances” Greene and Loretta Jeter, a host of other relatives, nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was loving, caring, giving and always willing to help. When she was younger, she always made sure her siblings’ children had a good Christmas. She worked at Gimbels department store in Pittsburgh, Hahnemann Hospital in Philadelphia, J & L Steel & Woodlawn Cleaners in Aliquippa and Chick-fil-a in Beaver County Mall (all in PA). You would always learn something from the knowledge she shared with you and sometimes it was something new about her. She attended classes at the Community College of Beaver County (CCBC) and Geneva College and taught her children the value of continuing education.
She always had a sense of humor and in turbulent times she would continue to fight her way through.
