Joyce Mandrell, 69 of Woodlawn, passed away Saturday, May 12, 2012 at St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon.
Joyce was born June 19, 1942 in East Prairie, MO, daughter of William Hale and Della (Schaeffer) Smothers. She married Jim Mandrell on June 16, 1962 in Centralia and he survives in Woodlawn.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son: Raymond Mandrell of Centralia; 4 daughters: Debbie Harrison and husband Hal of Salem, Rose Huffman of Centralia, Tracey Hottes and Perry of Mt. Vernon, Melinda Samuel of TX; 16 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a brother Bill Hale of Woodlawn, 3 nieces and 2 nephews. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Dean Smothers.
Joyce was a homemaker. Most of all she loved spending time with her family.
