HOLT, Joyce Loretta Age 88, of Gainesville, FL passed away Saturday, August 12, 2017 at her home in Westfield, MA surrounded by her family following a brief illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, T.Y. & Lenore Chang; her brother Ronald (Lilli), and her sister, Leatrice (KN) Lam. Joyce grew up in Shanghai China and came to the US on a full scholarship to Manhattanville College of the Sacred Heart. She graduated with a BA degree in English and went on to get her MA in Education from Teachers College, Columbia University. Joyce worked as a camp counselor, at Newsweek Magazine, at Simon & Scheuster, and at Value Line. In between her office jobs, she taught school at Cherry Lawn School in Darien, CT, and also at Walt Whitman School, in NYC. She was an Avon lady, a realtor and then an administrator at the New Jersey Education Association for over 16 years until her retirement in 2001. She is survived by her husband Charles, her daughters Gloria (David) Hartman; Kathie (Paul) Blyskal, her son Clifford Holt; grandsons, Daniel Blyskal, LT. Raymond Blyskal, Jonathan Holt and James Holt; and her brother Stephen (Lillian) Chang.
