Joyce Joanne Teters, 82, of Boise passed away Monday, September 21, 2015 at her home with her family at her side. Joyce was born on October 13, 1932 in Cashmere, Washington to Harold and Leona Spanjer. While in elementary school, her family moved to the neighboring community of Wenatchee, Washington. Joyce graduated from Wenatchee High School in 1950. After graduating, she attended the University of Washington and was a member of the Alpha Phi Sorority. She met and married Dan Teters in 1951. Joyce and Dan had three sons, Christopher, Michael, and Daniel. Dan was employed by Morrison Knudsen and spent many years with the family in the Middle East, Asia, and Australia. Eventually Joyce moved to Kirkland, Washington where she worked in real estate for a few years before settling in Boise. She loved to play bridge, tennis, and golf at the Hillcrest Country Club. In 1990 Joyce met Forest William White and for the next 23 years the two were constant companions. They loved to spend time dancing, playing golf, and playing music. They also frequented their cabin in Idaho City, resorts in Southern California, and several jazz festivals. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; her two oldest sons, Christopher and Michael; and her longtime companion, Forest White. She is survived by her son, Daniel.
