Joyce Irene Imus-Sweeney, 93
Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, Joyce Irene Imus-Sweeney, 93, of Kellogg, Idaho, passed away on September 15, 2019 at Mountain Valley of Cascadia of Kellogg, Idaho. Joyce was born on January 7, 1926 in Bison, South Dakota; the daughter of Vail and Calista (Davey) Lease.
Joyce grew up and graduated from the Coeur d’ Alene High School, class of 1943. She later moved to Newman Lake for 65 years, before moving back to Coeur d’ Alene in 2006. She spent another 12 years in Coeur d’ Alene before relocating to Kellogg, Idaho in 2018.
Joyce married William Imus in 1948; they spent 44 years of marriage together until his passing in 1992. Later, Joyce met and married Clifford Sweeney, they were united in marriage in 2000; they spent 15 years together until his passing in 2015.
Joyce worked at Pacific Trail as a machine operator and inspector. However, Joyce dedicated her life to her family, focusing on being a homemaker, wife and mother.
Joyce enjoyed many things in life. She was an avid reader, especially of her bible. She enjoyed camping and traveling to the Washington and Oregon Coasts; she enjoyed being out in the sun.
Joyce is survived by her three sons, William Mark (Christy) Imus Jr. of Grangeville, Idaho, Loren (Carol) Imus of Sandpoint, Idaho, and Keith Imus of Placerville, California; four grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Joyce was preceded in death by her son, David Imus; both husbands, William Imus and Clifford Sweeney; one brother; six sisters; as well as both parents, Vail and Calista Lease.
Joyce was dearly loved by her family and friends and she will be greatly missed.
