Joyce I. Alvey, 79, of Anderson, passed away on December 3, 2014 at St. Vincent Mercy Hospital Elwood, Indiana. She was born on April 28, 1935 in Dale, Indiana and resided most of her life in Anderson.
She worked for Edgewood Dress Shop and Eastside Dairy. She loved music, especially Elvis, going to flea markets, and auctions. She also enjoyed going to the beach at Aqua Gardens and Shadyside Lake, and attending live music at The Barn in Greenfield.
She was also known for driving her golf cart around North Anderson. Joyce is survived by her children and stepchildren, Robert (Katrina) Miller of Elwood and Joy R. Burnworth of Thousand Oaks, CA, Kellie Alvey, Sheree Ellis and Cindy Alvey, grandchildren, Daniel Keith Miller, Zachary Kyle Miller, Max and Milana Perpoli, and three great-grandchildren, Thomas, Samuel and Andrew Miller.
She was preceded in death by husband, James Alvey, and parents, Ernest F. and Pauline (Fisher) George.
