Joyce A. Hostetler, 75, of South Bend, Indiana passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 1, 2022. She was born on June 20, 1946 in Plymouth, Indiana to the late Ralph D. and Rachel M. (Surface) Baughman. On August 22, 1964 she married J. Mark Hostetler who preceded her in death on February 26, 2004. Joyce is survived by two daughters: Rhonda (Steve) Hicks of Niles, Michigan and Debra (Todd) Campbell of Knoxville, Tennessee; two sons: J. Paul (Laura) Hostetler of San Antonio, Texas and Andrew Hostetler of LaPaz, Indiana; twenty grandchildren: Lincoln (Karisse) Hicks, Luke Hicks, Lindsay (Joe) Risinger, Logan Hicks, Laine (Emma) Hicks, Liberty Hicks, Levi Hicks, Lydia Hicks, Leah Hicks, Louisa Hicks, Madison (Aaron) Walker, Nicholas (Hannah) Campbell, Allyson Campbell, James Hostetler, Andrea Hostetler, Javan Hostetler, Evelyn Hostetler, Ingrid Hostetler, Joram Hostetler, and Jowan Hostetler; seven great-grandchildren; one sister: Sandra (Gordon) Goff of Walkerton, Indiana; and one twin brother: Duwaine (Marlene) Baughman of North Liberty, Indiana.

Joyce was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed singing in choir, being active and going on “adventures”. In 1972, Joyce made the most important decision of her life when she understood that she was a sinner and therefore could not get to Heaven on her own. “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast.” (Eph 2:8,9) She asked Jesus Christ to forgive her sins, to make her a new person and take her to Heaven when she died. Although we will miss her, we are happy that in being absent from her body and mind, she is now present with the Lord in Heaven. Joyce is now free from the struggle of Dementia that weighed on her for many years and for that we are at peace knowing that we will see her again some day in Heaven.
