Joyce Heiner Fisher died peacefully in her sleep in the early morning on January 31, 2022 at the Family Tree assisted living center in West Point UT. She was born August 26, 1929 in Morgan UT. The nineth of ten child of Lafe and Naomi Heiner. She had 3 brothers and 6 sisters. Growing up on the farm in Round Valley during the depression taught her hard work and self-reliance early in life. She attended school in Morgan County graduating from Morgan High School in 1947. Soon after graduation she met and married Ronald Dean Fisher of Layton UT in Elko, NV. Their marriage was later solemnized Oct. 3, 1950 in the Salt Lake Temple. He has waited 21 years to be with her again. Joyce was employed as a Program Analyst for the IRS in Ogden, UT for 23 years. She received many awards for her outstanding performance. Her main enjoyment in life however was being a mother and grandmother. She mastered the skill of culinary art and could cook a meal delectable beyond imagination.
She is survived by; One sister; Faye Detherage: three sons; Jerry (Lorraine) Centerville, Stanley (Carol) Ammon ID, Roger (Jill) Clinton; 3 daughters; Karen Dovenbarger Roy, Marilyn (Chuck) Whittington Naperville IL. Janalyn (Brian) Wagstaff Clinton. 22 grandchildren and 60 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandson. Many called her red hair Grandma. She has a deep love for each one. She put everyone’s needs above her own and was honored by Clinton City as Matriarch of the City in their annual Heritage Days Parade.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; Lafe & Naomi Heiner. Her husband: Ronald D. Fisher. 3 brothers; Marion, Bruce & Donald Heiner. 5 Sisters; Helen Heiner, Alice (Soren) Rasmussen, Ruth (Darrell) Ellis, Thelma (Wayne) Leak, Marjorie (Burt) Rix. One daughter; Colleen (Chatterton). One grandson; Matthew Fisher. One son in law; Gene (Dovenbarger). The family express their appreciation to the staff of the Family Tree Assisted Living Center. We would like to acknowledge her lifelong home teaching ministering angel Stephen Nelson who served and helped the family for some 50 years.
Joyce was a kind and loving person and will be greatly missed. With gratitude and sadness in our hearts, we say a temporary goodbye; to a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Joyce Heiner Fisher.
