Joyce Fay Keen, age 84, of Grapeland, Texas, went to be with her Lord and Savior, on Saturday, the 4th day of June 2022. She was born in Anderson County, Texas on the 26th day of May 1938 to parents Meredith “Jake” Salmon and Edna Smith Salmon.
Over her lifetime she worked at many different types of employment. She also owned a snack bar and restaurant. Lastly at Salmon Lake Park in Grapeland. She also volunteered at church as a Sunday School secretary, and with missions.
She is survived by her daughters, Leadon Herod Hobbs Notz (husband Charles), Christine Herod Anderson (husband Tony), Gaylon Bailey Jones; stepson, Jim Bailey (wife Olga); sister, Mirnie Musick Roberson. She had 10 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and special friends.
Mrs. Keen is preceded in death by her parents, husbands Cecil Herod Jr., Gene T, Bailey Sr., and Claude Keen; son, Kenneth Herod; sons-in-law, Gary Hobbs and John Paul Jones; stepsons, Gene T. Bailey Jr., and Dale Bailey; grandson, Michael J. Anderson; granddaughter, Heather Hayslett Knight; brothers, Floyd Salmon and Cleon Salmon.
