Joyce Ellen Stalgren, 76, died November 3, in Lone Tree, Colorado.  She had been ill for several months.

Born in Denver, she graduated from Aurora High School and then lived in California for several years before moving to Albuquerque in 1972.  She graduated from Stephens College and worked in health care all her life.  She was an administrator of nursing homes before retirement.

In 2009, following retirement, she moved to Highlands Ranch, CO where she lived until her passing.

She was predeceased by her parents, Harold Stalgren and Grace (George) Stalgren, and her brother, Harold Jr.  She is survived by her brother, Gordon (Pat) of Albuquerque, and their sons Doug (Sasha) of California and Glenn (Julie) of Massachusetts;  her sister-in-law, Karen, of Frederick, CO, and her sons Steve (Erin) of Loveland, and Noel (Helen) of Englewood.  The family wishes to acknowledge Jackie Grim, Joyce’s neighbor who was more like a daughter to her.  She was a most important caregiver to Joyce in the past years, and her help was essential in keeping Joyce comfortable.

Joyce was a caring person, immensely proud of her nephews. She enjoyed watching (and rooting for) the Denver Broncos, and made sure her nephews’ children always had Bronco shirts to wear.

During her last years, she suffered physically, and Jackie was always able to be there for her.  Their relationship was very special, and Joyce’s family is so thankful for the part Jackie played in helping Joyce.
