Joyce Loy was born March 23, 1932, in Lorimor, Iowa, to Guy and Darlene (Hurley) Loy. She lived in Des Moines for 75 years.
She was married to Galen Murtle on July 8, 1950. They were blessed with two wonderful children.
She was a member of Heritage Assembly of God Church. She graduated from North High School in 1950 and Kingsway Bible College. She was a devout Christian and spent her time with the church. She also enjoyed gardening. Joyce was a loving mother and a wonderful wife.
She leaves behind her son, Scott Murtle of Cornelius, NC; son-in-law, Tom Neuman of Des Moines, IA; granddaughter, Kaylee (Dalton) (Murtle) Martz; grandsons, Cody (Mallory) Murtle and Clayton Murtle; and great grandson, Jarrod Wolcott and Cannon Murtle; sister, Jean (Don) Davis; and brother, Charles (Dolores) Loy. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Galen; parents; brother, Duane Loy; daughter, Deb Neuman; granddaughter, Kym Wolcott.
