Mabel Joyce Crow McComb passed away on November 30, 2013, in Huntsville, Alabama at Regency Manor nursing home.

She was born on June 21, 1923 to Mildred L. and Murphey J. Crow in Baywood, Louisiana, and lived in Baton Rouge, New Orleans, Spearesville, and Rocky Branch. She attended high school in Rocky Branch and trade school in Winfield, working at Camp Clayburn during WWII and graduating from Louisiana College with a major in elementary education and history.

In Forth Worth, Texas and Utica, NY, she taught elementary school and lived with her husband and children in Huntsville, AL from 1966 to 2013, where she was active in her church choir, Sunday school, church library, neighborhood outreach, and foreign missions outreach. She loved gardening, writing, reading, and music. Studies at UAH and local study clubs included Bible, history, voice, keyboard, and composition.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Donald Spencer McComb, and is survived by her siblings Eloise Seale of West Monroe, LA and husband Dewy, Johnette Ney of Lake Charles, LA, Roberta Honeycutt of Sulphur, LA, William Crow of Benton, LA and wife Betty; her daughter and son-in-law, Rebekah M. and Peter Smith of Chapel Hill, NC, and son and daughter-in-law David S. and Laura McComb of Huntsville, AL, and their children Spencer and Hannah. She will be remembered for her faith, creativity, strength, and love of life.
