Joyce B. Jemmett, 83 of Parma, passed away Thursday, January 5, 2012 at a local hospital of natural causes.
Joyce Bernice Elliott Jemmett, was born July 21, 1928 in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to John B. Elliott and Ethel Irene Venemon. She grew up in Iona, Idaho with 5 brothers and 2 sisters. She was educated in Iona and was employed in the LDS Hospital in Idaho Falls in her teens.
She married Dale E. Jemmett May 13, 1948 in Iona, Idaho. They were later sealed for time and all eternity in the Idaho Falls Temple in 1958.
Born to them were five children; Sandra, Renee, Dell, Glen and Larry. They lived in the Marsing area where they farmed until 1962, at which time they moved to Parma and purchased a small acreage. Joyce worked hard side by side with Dale on the farm and raised their family whom she felt was her greatest achievement.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dale; her son, Larry; one granddaughter; one great-grandson, two sisters and three brothers.
She is survived by her children, Sandra (Jim) Lemmon, Renee (Floyd) Sumsion, Dell (Donna) Jemmett, and Glen (Nadine) Jemmett; 19 grandchildren and 45 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers, Johnny Elliott and Wayne Elliott.
Joyce was known for her fun loving personality and to be a generous and compassionate person. She will be missed by family, friends and neighbors.
