Joyce Anne Ott, 75, of Elkhart, Indiana passed away peacefully Sunday, March 13, 2022, at her mother’s home in Goshen, surrounded by her children and sister.

Joyce was born on July 8, 1946, in Salyersville, Kentucky to the late Curtis Howes and Polly (Poe) Howes.

She is survived by her mother, Polly (Poe) Howes of Goshen, Indiana; husband, Tom Ott in Carmel, Indiana; her daughter Traci (Ott) Warren of Carmel; and her son, Jeff (Abbi) Ott of Fishers, Indiana. She also has a younger sister, Judy (Howes) Pletcher of Goshen; and four grandchildren: Jack, Curt, Faith Warren and Cora Ott.  Additionally, Joyce is survived by a loving host of extended family and friends.

Billings Funeral Home located at 812 Baldwin Street, Elkhart, will host Joyce’s celebration of life service at 1PM ET on Saturday, March 19, 2022, with visitation prior for family and friends from 12 – 1PM. Pastor Terry Bradford will officiate the service and burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery in South Bend.

Joyce invested in her local community and career for nearly 30 years in the Michiana area. An incredible homemaker, career woman, and mom, she gracefully served a wide variety of roles across real estate, nursing, and the RV Industry to the local PTA, cheer coach, cook, gardener, and craft maker. A few of her accomplishments include: Elkhart County Board of Realtors President 1993 – 1994, MLS President 2002, Indiana Realtor of the Year 2009, and the Managing Broker of Prudential Real Estate. She also was a two-time Bristol Homecoming Grand Marshall Parade award winner! Joyce was not only successful at maintaining her high standard of business, she was a “Mom” to all a loving role model, caregiver, and mentor to so many of her colleagues, family, and friends.

Above all, Joyce loved spending time with her family, children, grandchildren, and grand-dogs, who all loved making memories at Mamaw and Papaw’s house, swimming in the pool and enjoying Mamaw’s tasty treats like her German chocolate cake, spinach dip, meatballs, lasagna, and amazing homemade sugar cookies. She was also famous for making each family member their very own favorite dessert to enjoy at gatherings and then take home. Among her other favorite things, Joyce loved yellow, sunflowers, growing herbs, gardening, and knitting.
