Joyce Ann Carlson, 73, of Fairland, Indiana passed away Saturday, December 5, 2020 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Joyce was born in Casey County, Kentucky to parents Royal Meece and Ruth (Combs) Meece.
Joyce had many joys in life, which included tending to her garden and watching hummingbirds. Joyce never turned down a chance to spend time with her family and often looked forward to family gatherings. She greatly enjoyed shopping and listening to music of all varieties.
Joyce is survived by her two children, Tammy Gilley of Fairland, Indiana and Sonia (Blaine) Steffen, of Greenwood, Indiana; her two sisters Willadean (John) Luhn of New Whiteland, Indiana and Rosa Wood of Texas; her six grandchildren, David Duggar, Daniel Duggar, Rachel Duggar, Michael Palmer, Matthew Palmer, and Mariah Gilley; her twelve great-grandchildren, and her great-great grandchild.
Joyce is preceded in death her parents, her late spouse, Gordon Carlson; her two brothers, Gerald Meece and Roy Gene Meece; her two sisters, Zelda Meece and Emma Jean Meece; and her son Gerald “Jerry” McNew.
