Joyce Ann Carey Gunter, 75, of Anderson, passed away on April 14, 2016, at Community Hospital Anderson. She was born on December 22, 1940, in Anderson where she lived all her life. She retired as the Manager of the Snack Bar for Walmart. She loved collecting photographs of her children and grandchildren and was a collector of collections. She also loved her Bunco Club ladies.
Joyce is survived by children, Vanessa Goodwin, Jeff (Tammy) Carey, and Melanie Ferguson, siblings, Betty Gill, Jon Stalnaker, and Carroll LeMaster, a special friend, Cathy Blaylock, former husband, Arnold Gunter, grandchildren, Tiffany (Tim) Crum, Kendra Williams, Jocelyn Ferguson, Lindsay (Brittany) Smith, Jeffrey (Bess) Carey, Jessica Miller, Jacinda (Joshua Jenkins) Ferguson, great-grandchildren, Mercedes, Draven, Braxton, Brogan, Gavin, Arya, Skyler, Bella, Preston, Azalea, Piper, Alyssa, Rachel, Jacob and several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Kathryn (Yocom) Smith, father, Floyd R. Smith, siblings, Ruby (Ray) Davis, Judye (James) O’Banion, Sammy Strong, Michael Smith, and the father of her children, L. Grant Carey.
