Joyce Ann Acree, 78, of Woodson, IL died Saturday, March 10, 2018, at Passavant Hospital in Jacksonville, IL. She was born February 12, 1940 in Alexander, IL, the daughter of John James and Zelma Taylor Walker.

She is survived by four children, Bobbie Jo (Mark), Keith (Melinda), Teri and Kelli (David); three grandchildren, Rachel, Nicholas and Jillian; four siblings, Shirley, Mildred, Johnny and Judy; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Nicole; and two siblings in infancy, James and Betty Darlene.

Joyce was employed for several years at Mobil Chemical in Jacksonville and after relocating to Minnesota, was employed many years with Pako X-Ray Film Processing Equipment in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Joyce was known as a skillful seamstress who never needed a pattern. She also enjoyed putting paint to canvas. She loved all animals, owned two cats and would look after any stray to ensure its well being. She also possessed a “green thumb” and enjoyed her flower gardens.

Joyce was a force of nature and not afraid of tackling any project around the house, whether it was a difficult remodeling project inside or constructing a koi pond in the backyard.
