Joy Lynn Skiles, 89, Anderson, passed away on August 30, 2021, surrounded by her family after a brief illness. She was born on April 30, 1932, in Clarksville, AR to Robbie Lynn and Hershel Hudson.

Joy came to Anderson when she was eight years old. She graduated from Anderson High School in 1950. Joy had been employed at the Madison County Clerk’s Office. After her marriage to Rod Skiles, she worked for the State of Indiana at the Employment Security Division. For the past several years, Joy was a homemaker.

Joy was a member of Meadowbrook Baptist Church. She was also a member of IFFA, was president of the Grandview Social Club, the Edgewood Country Club for 40 years, and several card clubs. Joy was also a volunteer at Community Hospital for 21 years. She also enjoyed traveling. Joy loved God, her family, going to family holiday gatherings, playing cards with friends, attending the Class of 1950 luncheons, and the Chicago Cubs.

Joy was preceded in death by her husband, Rod Skiles in 1993, her parents, and her step-father, Walter Park.

She is survived by her three children, Joni Brinkman (Jack), Julie Reller, and Gayla Witty; her grandchildren, Shelby Delwey (Steve), Ashley Wolski (Joe), Abbey Linsk (Reed), Amanda McCarthy (Josh), Ali Witty, and Andrew Witty (Carissa Ward); and six great-grandchildren.
