Joy Helen Williams Hazel Johnson, age 85, of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, passed away March 7, 2016 in Tallahassee, Florida. Joy was born July 30, 1930 in Harlem, New York to Leroy Williams and Helen Whaley. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband’s Henry Hazel and Kenneth Johnson, brothers Leroy, Joseph and Rudolph, sister Carol Williams Murray and daughter Hersenna Hazel Feliciano.

She leaves to cherish her memories, two loving granddaughters, Mailea (Stevie) Adams of Tallahassee and Carmen Betts (George) Jones of Fort Walton Beach. Joy has 8 precious great grandchildren; Anthony “J.R.” (Brittany) Betts, Stevie II “Chez” Adams, Chantel Betts (Jonah) Leavell, Jaden Betts, Justus Betts, Miles Adams, Quendell Jones and C’era Jones. She has one sweet great great granddaughter; Hadyn Betts, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and sorrowing friends.

Joy was a born again Christian and loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She raised her family in the fear and admonition of the Lord (Ephesians 6:4). She will be remembered as a mother that always provided for her family, one who listened and comforted in times of trouble and sorrow and shared laughter during times of joy and happiness.
