Ms. Josie Anderson McMillian was born October 21, 1940 in Verbena, Alabama to the late Robert and Earline Anderson.
Also she was a board member of New York City Central Labor Council, AFL-CIO, and N.Y.C. United Way, lifetime member of N.A.A.C.P., recipient of the world’s, “Who’s Who of Women” and “Who’s who of Black Women”. She was a honorary member of Alabama, Chicago, and Kentucky Postal Workers Union.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Earline Anderson and Robert Anderson; one sister, Betty (Roy) Porter; one grandson, Christopher McMillian.
Ms. Anderson departed this walk of life on July 24, 2019 at her residence, Childersburg, AL.
She leaves to cherish and honor her loving memories, a devoted son, Willie (Sharon) McMillian of Childersburg, AL; two devoted daughters, Theresa McMillian and Freda McMillian both of Childersburg, AL; five grandchildren, Christyna Thompson, Vanessa King, Raven McMillian, Lisa McMillian and Wali McMillian; nine great grandchildren, Tyshawn, Ronnell, Jaquan, Autavia McMillian, Brielle Winston, Nia, Nila, Nya and Cheyenne McMillian; six sisters, Clara Gardner, Barbara (David) Bethea, Nona Cunningham, Ruth (Kenneth) Swain, Magdalene Cowlin, and Patricia (Ulysses) Jones; four brothers, James Anderson, Robert Anderson, Larry (Tammy) Anderson, Percy (Johnnie Faye) Anderson, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
