Joshua Milton “Randy” Nathoo, 58, passed away the night of February 14, 2022, at Piedmont Fayette Hospital in Fayetteville, Georgia. He was predeceased by his wife, Sincia Dorcelian Nathoo, whom he shared nine years of marriage.
Joshua Nathoo is survived by his mother, his sisters Karen Elizabeth and Anna Rebecca, and his daughter, Indira Janelle. He is predeceased by his father and his sister Vivienne Inge Paula – known simply as Inge.
Born in Clifton, Berbice, Guyana, he was the youngest child and only son of Rattanee Basoo and Burnette Nathoo. He attended the University of Sussex in Sussex, England, and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in International Relations in 1988. In 1998 he relocated to southern Florida, married Sincia Dorcelian in September of that year, and welcomed a child, a daughter, in June of 2001.
Though not tied to any formal organizations, Joshua Nathoo was a spiritualist at heart, and preferred to make his own interpretations about life and the meaning behind it. He enjoyed animals, and often could be found with a cat on his shoulder or a kitten cradled in his arms. He also loved horses and dreamed of being a jockey in his youth.
He was a devoted son, brother, husband, and father and loved to spend his time reading and gleaning knowledge from the world. He would often insert unsolicited health advice or a long-passed historical perspective into conversation, and garnered the respect of family and friends for his intelligence. His stubbornness, known far and wide, will be immortalized in his absence. He was fundamentally a good man, and will be deeply cherished and missed.
