Josh would likely say something along the lines of “Dang, shoot, man, huh” if he knew that these words were being prepared for him. Humor, laughter, and the occasional practical joke were essential to his being. It would be a challenge to count the number of dull or solemn moments you were allowed to have around him. Josh loved to laugh and give others reasons to laugh. He was a living example of light-heartedness. He carried that light-heartedness with him everywhere he went and infused it into his every deed. He enjoyed being outdoors on the water kayaking or walking amongst trees and trails with his family. He loved his family that he and his wife built together more than anything. He could often be found playing video games with their son Seth or chasing after their daughter Sofia, who was also his boss. Of all things Josh appreciated in life, he was most proud of being a loving father and family man – and the “mean plate of bacon and eggs” that no one could cook like him. He developed a strong love for music when he was a child. He listened to anything from rock, to country, to hip-hop. He joined the band in 5th grade and remained with it all the way through high school where he was offered scholarships to local colleges. Later on in his 20s, he picked up a guitar and became respectfully skilled with it. So skilled that his wife compared him to Ben Harper – or so the story goes. As a child, Josh was known for his caring and attentive heart, his love for music, and the pranks he carried out on his little brother. Most of all Josh is remembered for his bravery, selflessness, protectiveness of those he loved, and love of tacos. His departure creates a piece that will always be missing from the puzzle that others hold. He is a loved and respected soul. In closing, and in light of Josh’s playful and light-hearted nature, he would probably say “Aw, that’s cool man!”
