Joshua Hunter Dauzart, affectionately known as Hunter, 21, passed away May 14, 2022, at his home in Jeanerette, Louisiana. He was born on July 23, 2000, in Alexandria, Louisiana to Heather and Joshua Dauzart. Hunter will be remembered for his loyalty and authenticity. He was genuine and true and chose to surround himself with good people. He kept a small circle and was extremely close to his sisters and nieces. He spent a lot of time playing and having fun with them. He was a good uncle and would have done anything for those girls. He was an avid gamer and a music lover. He will always be remembered for listening to his favorite artist, Juice World, who was also taken from this world way too soon. His hearty laugh could make anyone smile and his goofy personality was bound to make you crack up right there with him. He was always looking to have a good time with good people.

Hunter was a simple man. It didn’t take much to make him happy. He had such a big heart, and he’d give the shirt off his back to anyone close to him that needed it.

He is survived by his mother, Heather Simpson Dauzart of Jeanerette; his stepfather, Scott Sevin; his father, Joshua Dauzart of Deville, LA, two sisters, Brooke and Calista Dauzart, four nieces, Azalia Zito, Amaiya Allen and Dakota and Jordynn Smith, as well as his uncles, cousins and close friends.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother Sherry Dauzart, his maternal grandmother Deborah Barton Buteau and his uncle Cody Winstead; Step grandfather: Edwin Buteau
