Joshua David Shoemaker, 39, of Jacksonville, IL, died Monday, June 1, 2020, at his residence. Cremation will be accorded. He was born on December 15, 1980, in Beardstown, the beloved son and best friend of Kina Glascock-Shoemaker of Jacksonville, and David Shoemaker of Greenview. Josh is survived by his daughter, Sierra Shoemaker of Ashland.

Josh is also survived by his half-siblings:  Christopher (Destiny) Shoemaker (and daughter, Ivy) of Lewiston, Samantha Shoemaker and Noah Shoemaker, both of Greenview. Preceding him in death are his grandparents, Charles & Opal Glascock and Floyd & Francis Shoemaker.

Josh attended Jacksonville High School. He was known most of his young life as the delivery man and could be seen working Door Dash, Papa John’s, Jimmy John’s, Pizza Hut, as well as transporting seniors to appointments in Springfield.

Josh cherished each day with his family and friends and never met a stranger. He always had a smile on his face and an outgoing personality. His biggest accomplishment and true pride and joy was his daughter, Sierra. In his spare time, Josh was devoted to making music, known as Fatal Thoughts, in his studio with his friends for many years. Those who knew Josh, knew he always had a special place in his heart when it came to his four-legged fur babies–Ching, Sadie and Bong. Josh will be forever loved and missed terribly.
