Josephine Sanders Runner November 21, 1927 – April 22, 2013 Suddenly God’s angels on whispering wings lofted Josephine’s sprit to its eternal reward where there will be no more death, sorrow, pain, or suffering. She was the daughter of Howard Sanders and Edith Teets Sanders, born on the Greely Teets farm now the western side of Alpine Lake, Terra Alta W.Va.. She attended a one-room school near the Lime Plant. Moved to Kingwood in 1937, her lifelong residence. Graduated from Kingwood High School and Ohio Valley General Hospital Pittsburg Pa. as a Registered Nurse. She severed one year as 2nd Lt. during the Korean War and 4 years reserve in U.S. Air Force Nurses Corps. Attended Midwestern University at Wichita Fall Texas: She attended Louisiana State University 1952 to 1954 served on faculty Baptist School of Nursing, both of New Orleans, La.. Served over 10 years as Dr. Trenton’s Office Nurse in Kingwood, was past president of Preston County Nurses Association. She was office manager and secretary for her husband Edwin since 1968. She served four years as uncompensated secretary for the prosecuting attorney. Josephine dedicated her life to helping the sick and the disadvantage. She fought for ethical and honorable conduct. She was a devoted and long-time over 50 years member of P.E.O.. She was and a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her likes will not pass this way anymore. She is survived by three sons, David, wife Sherry, daughter Sarah: son: Eric, wife Susan, daughters Kaitlyn and Rachel: son: Tracy, wife Lisa, son Samuel and daughter Hannah. Brother Harold, wife Norma, sons Danny, Perry and Philip. Deceased are Brother Joseph a pioneer recipient of open-heart surgery; Sister Glendine Storey, survived by son Gilbert, daughters, Marta and Debra. Parents Howard and Edith Sanders. Josephine enjoyed travel. As a secretary, she was taken to China’s Imperial Place, Temple of Heaven on National Secretary’s Week. Most enjoyable travel was Numidian Cruise on the Nile River when the Crew celebrated her birthday by songs and dance in their native language. She also visited Egypt, Ireland, England, France, Germany, Russia, Greece and Turkey.
