Josephine Kvaka, age 93, beloved wife of the late Edward Kvaka passed away Sept. 20, 2006 at home in Orange after a short illness, surrounded by family. The daughter of John and Anna Cesarek, she was born March 13, 1913 in New Haven. Prior to her retirement, she was the head housekeeper at the Stratford Motor Inn, Stratford. She was a longtime Ansonia resident before moving to Orange in 1981 to live with her loving daughter, Patricia Virzi, and son-in-law, John. She is also the mother of a beloved son, Eugene Melewski of Seymour. She is also survived by six grandchildren and their spouses: Anna Maria Virzi (Patrick Quinn) of Milford; Patricia (William) Esposito of Hamden; Susan (Christopher) Vendola of Orange; Joseph (Julie) Melewski of Barrington, N.H.; Thomas (Carolyn) Melewski of Naugatuck, and Mark (Sheila) Melewski of Bristol; 10 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her brother, Stanley Cesarek, and sisters, Frances Decko and Stella Berkovitz. The family would like to thank Home Care Plus of Milford, especially Diane Rodono for the care and support provided to Josephine over the past three years.
