Josephine Cooksey, 87, of Bellevue died on Sunday, January 11, 2015, after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s, at the Providence Care Center, Sandusky.
Josephine was born in West Virginia on May 12, 1927 to Sam and Virginia (Passatore) Buffa.
She graduated from Elyria High School.
During WWII, she worked at Able Shoes in Elyria.
On July 23, 1943, she married Roland G. Cooksey.
He survives along with their son, David R. Cooksey of Bellevue, and nieces, cousins and friends.
Mrs. Cooksey was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and the Daughters of Isabella.
She loved to cook big family dinners at the holidays.
