Josephine Carmela Crisafulli Ramshur, passed on to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, May 31, 2015. Born on September 14, 1916, in Wadsworth, Ohio, to Carmelo and Domenica Crisafulli of the pioneer family who came to Merritt Island in 1920.
Josephine worked along side her parents, brothers Tony and Ben Crisafulli, and sister Carolina Policicchio, planting citrus and produce on North Merritt Island, in the community of Courtenay. From hard work, determination, and faith in God, they succeeded in producing the finest Indian River citrus, known worldwide.
Married to Lloyd Ramshur, she worked beside him for 25 years, developing Housing Authority of Brevard County. Upon her retirement she continued to farm and plant citrus, avocado and mango trees. She wanted to be outdoors, and got around her farm on her famous golf cart, checking on the crops.
She was preceeded in death by her husband, parents, brothers, sister, and grandson, Ezra Selman.
She is survived by her beloved children, John (Christie) of Palmer Lake, CO, Rebecca (Jack) Selman, Merritt Island, grandchildren Courtney, Kelly (Kit) and Lane and great grandchildren Jourdan, Tom, Connor, Pasquale, Wyatt and Isabelle, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
She was loved by all and her feisty spirity will be greatly missed.
