Ms. Josephine Butler was born on February 15, 1950 in Jacksonville, Florida, to the late Augustus Butler and Susie Mae Benniefield-Butler. She attended Duval County Public Schools and graduated from Matthew Gilbert High School in the class of 1968. On June 16, 2015, she departed this life to be with the Lord.
At an early age, Josephine accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior.
Josephine had a way of befriending you with her gentle smile and leaving a remarkable impression on those she met. She had the most humorous spirit and such a distinctive laugh. You knew it was Ms. Phine, as she was affectionately called, when you heard her laughter in a crowd.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Susie Mae Benniefield-Butler; father, Augustus Butler; and sister, Katie McLory.
Josephine leaves her cherished memories with her sister, Linell Franklin. She is also survived by a host of cousins, close relatives, and loyal friends.
