Joseph William Wagner, 79, passed away on Saturday, February 16, 2008 at the Kalispell Regional Medical Center in Kalispell, Montana. He was born on December 3, 1928 in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin the thirteenth of fourteen children born to Martin and Matilda (Endl) Wagner.
Joseph received his early education at the Ft. Atkinson schools graduating from Ft. Atkinson High School. Following high school he worked various jobs including grocery stores, meat packing and finally at the University of Wisconsin at Whitewater, working in the Shipping and Receiving department until his retirement. Joseph had many interests and hobbies; among then his love of fishing, dancing and jitterbugging. His green thumb was evident in his landscaping and flower gardens. He enjoyed planning and building homes.
Joseph married Martha Miller in Ft. Atkinson on October 29, 1949.
Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, eleven brothers and sisters and one son Richard Wagner. He is survived by his wife, Martha; daughter: Linda Ruther of Kalispell; four grandchildren: Tina Vogt of Gillette, WY, Aaron Ruther, Adam Ruther and Jacob Ruther all of Kalispell; two great grandchildren: Brooke and Dustine; a brother: Gene Wagner and a sister: Gertrude Oates both of Janesville, WI. as well as numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.
