Joseph William Corryn died peacefully Thursday, December 24, 2020 at his home. He was born April 7, 1932 in Kalamazoo, MI first born of Frederick W. and Winifred K (Campbell) Corryn and had been a lifelong area resident.

Joseph graduated from Comstock High School 1950. The U.S. Navy took up four years of his life once he was out of High School where he was stationed in Hawaii from 1951-1954. He spoke of how it was an experience that he was glad he took, but even happier that it was during quieter times.

Joseph continued working for the federal government when he joined the United States Postal Service as a letter carrier making not only friends but leaving lasting impressions with some of his doodling talents and zip code slogans and signs. Joseph retired from USPS after 29+ years of service where customers and friends continued to keep in contact with him.

On November 2, 1957, Joseph married the former Joan Stevens who preceded him in death on August 3, 2020.

He was also preceded in death by his parents, father-in-law, mother-in-law, all three brothers, son-in-law. Joseph is survived by three children, Fred Corryn of Lakeland, FL, Priscilla Dibble of Kalamazoo, Patricia Corryn of Kalamazoo; three grandchildren, Erick (Justin) Corryn of Lakeland, FL, Elisabeth Corryn of Webster, TX, Ethan (Kim) Dibble of Kalamazoo, MI; three great-grandchildren, Nevaeh, Wyatt, and Olivia Dibble; a brother-in-law, Peter Stevens of Belmont Surrey, England; several nieces and nephews, extended family, and friends.
