Joe was raised in Waterloo then moved to Des Moines. He was a carpenter extraordinaire both at work and his private craftsmanship. Framing a house, siding, windows, furniture, fix-ups, were all in his skill set. This spilled over into his helping neighbors with repairs and chores.
Survivors include wife, Maggie Cook, brother, Mike (Deanna) Cook, sister, Carolyn (Cruz) Mata, son, Joseph Cook, daughters, Crystal Agar, and Brittany Schmidt, five grandchildren, many nieces & nephews, and devoted dogs, Cash & Jake.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ronald & Darlene Cook, brothers, Ronnie Cook, and David Cook, and dog buddy Sammy.
